LET’S TOAST TO DAY 12 OF HOLIDAY CHEERS!
Capturing the Holiday Spirit – Giving Back
We have and always will pride ourselves in giving back to the community that surrounds us every day. We love the feeling of knowing we are able to help others that are less fortunate than ourselves. Through programs such as Days of Taste and Meals on Wheels, as well as many other charitable and mentoring organizations, we are able to donate our personal time and effort in order to better the lives of others in our community. That is an intrinsic and priceless feeling and 25% of our efforts go towards giving! Philanthropy is a major cornerstone in our efforts to be an overall successful company.
This time of year, it seems even more a part of our everyday thoughts… and our team has been donating their time and resources to great organizations!
Helping Up Mission
On Wednesday, December 5th, we volunteered to help with our industry friends at NACE Baltimore to serve a Holiday Dinner at the Helping Up Mission. Our culinary team put together fresh Turkey Roulade Bread Stuffing, Whipped Yukon Gold Potatoes, and Potato Rolls and we helped set tables and serve the Dinner to over 300 men at the Mission. The Helping Up Mission provides hope to the poor and homeless. They are both an overnight shelter and a destination for long-term addiction recovery.
Meals on Wheels
For several years, Jerry Edwards CPCE, has been the regional spokesperson for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland. Our team continually volunteers our time and resources for this amazing organization! This past Monday, we spent our time with Meals on Wheels – preparing nutritious meals for their home-bound clients. A few of us even went on the road to help deliver food!
On this morning, we…
Panned up 600 chicken breast patties
Panned up 1500 pork patties
Panned up 1500 salmon patties
Prepared 3 trays of lettuce & tomatoes
Bagged up 672 cheese bags
Cupped up 7 trays of pineapple tidbits
Portioned out 111 roast beef bags
Bagged up 125 Kaiser Rolls
Meals on Wheels are always looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen and to deliver lunches and dinners – if you have an hour a week, they can set you up with a route close to your home! Interested?
Baltimore Child Abuse Center
At our Holiday Party, we asked all of our team to donate books and art supplies for the kids that come through the Baltimore Child Abuse Center.
Baltimore Child Abuse Center is a leader in responding to and preventing child sexual abuse. Their primary activities focus on intervention when abuse is reported, treatment to aid in the healing of survivors and their families, education around recognizing, preventing, and reporting suspicions of abuse, and advocacy at the local, state and national levels. BCAC’s comprehensive services in these areas address the immediate and long-term challenges that child sexual abuse poses to the Baltimore region. BCAC gives children a voice.
We collected four bins that we brought over to BCAC to keep the children occupied while they are at the center.
